Are you struggling with your dog’s behaviour? we can help……
Dog's don't always behave the way we want them to and sometimes those behaviours can have a detrimental effect on your dog's, and your quality of life. You might be at a loss as to why your dog is behaving the way they are or be unsure of how to help change their behaviour. This is where I come in. Let me help you understand the reasons why your dog is behaving the way they are, the importance of understanding things from your dog's perspective, and provide you with the tools to teach your dog how to behave in a more appropriate way.
As with all of my interactions with dogs, I will not use any techniques or equipment that will hurt or frighten your dog. Changing behaviour requires an understanding of what makes dog's tick and my approach is in line with, and supported by the most up to date, scientifically supported evidence on how dog's learn.
A behaviour assessment is required for behaviours that go beyond that of basic obedience. Examples of behaviour problems I can help with include:
Aggression towards people / other dogs (barking / growling / lunging / biting etc.)
Aggression between dogs living in the same household
Fearful behaviour
Sound sensitivities and phobias (towards fireworks, thunder, gunshots etc.)
Resource Guarding (possessive behaviour of food / chews / toys / bed / sofa / owner etc.)
Handling Issues (both directed towards the owner and/or at the vets / groomers)
The Process
Initial Consultation
The first stage of the process is an initial consultations session. You will be sent a behaviour questionnaire to complete prior to the initial session. This will help me to get a better idea of your dogs general behaviour and history which then means we can use the time during the initial session more effectively.
The consultation will then involve me going through things identified in the behaviour questionnaire. I will give you immediate management advice to prevent your dog practicing the unwanted behaviours and you will get a better idea of what working with me will involve longer term.
Behaviour change takes time and often involves addressing other areas of your dogs day to day routine in order to improve the problem behaviour, therefore it is often necessary to have several weeks or months of support. This is however very dependent on the individual dog and problem behaviour(s) and therefore I start with the initial consultation which not only gives me the opportunity to give you some immediate management advice, but also for you to decide if we are a good fit going forward if you do require more long term support.

Further support
Following the initial consultation I will check in with you to follow up on the advice provided. We can also discuss appropriate longer term support. I do not have a ‘one size fits all’ approach and treat you and your dog as individuals, therefore discussions on the specifics of continued support will be individual to each case
